British man running length of Africa nears finish line

A British man, Russ Cook, embarked on a charity run spanning the length of Africa, commencing from Bizerte, Tunisia, hoping to conclude his journey’s final leg.

Known as the “Hardest Geezer” Cook commenced his challenge in April the previous year from Cape Agulhas, the continent’s southernmost point. Crossing into Tunisia on Thursday, he aims to finish at Cape Angela, Africa’s northernmost point, by Sunday’s end.

Supporters joined the 26-year-old at the onset of his final leg, spanning over 16,000 kilometers. Cook’s run aims to raise funds for The Running Charity, aiding disadvantaged youth, and Sandblast, supporting Saharawi indigenous people. Recently, donations surged, reaching over £650,000 of his £1 million target.
