Despite this regional achievement, Cape Town International Airport has seen a decline in its global standing, now positioned at 54th, a drop from 23rd place in 2020. This shift underscores the ever-changing landscape of global air travel and the continuous advancements in aviation standards.

South Africa’s airports also garnered positive attention in the survey. King Shaka International Airport in Durban secured the second position, followed by OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at third place on the African list. These rankings highlight the consistent excellence of South African airports as pivotal entry points to the continent.

In the broader African context, Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in Ethiopia clinched the seventh spot, signaling Ethiopia’s growing prominence as a hub for international commerce and travel.

Moving further up north, Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was ranked 10th, emphasizing Kenya’s integral role in linking East Africa with global air routes.
