Phil Foden says that Manchester City will forever be part of English football history if they secure their fourth consecutive Premier League title next Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s team is in pole position for their sixth English title in seven seasons as they head into the final matchday on Sunday.

City is two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal and will lift the Premier League trophy once again if they beat West Ham at the Etihad Stadium or if the Gunners fail to defeat Everton.

If City achieves four consecutive titles, it will be an unprecedented feat in the history of the English top flight. Not even the great Liverpool teams of the ’70s and ’80s, Alex Ferguson’s dynastic Manchester United, or the great Arsenal sides managed this remarkable achievement.

English forward Phil Foden believes that this might never happen again if City gets their hands on the trophy.

The Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year, who missed Thursday night’s ceremony in London to focus on City’s preparations, said: “It’s history, and I think it will never happen again. It’s something the team knows, understands, and we are eager to try and do.”

After winning the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup last season, City is aiming for a double this season.

The team will face Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 25, before Foden turns his focus to the European Championship in Germany.

“If we can win these next two finals, we will go into the tournament (Euro 2024) full of confidence,” Foden said.

“We’re going to give everything to try to achieve success and attempt to win the Premier League four times, which has never been done before. It would mean a lot to us. I am very pleased with my performance, and now it’s one last push on Sunday, one more game to try to win the league,” added the forward.
