Germany captain Ilkay Gundogan praised his compatriot Jamal Musiala after the 2-0 win over Hungary, calling him “incredible” and expressing how happy he was to be playing with him.
Musiala received an assist from Gundogan to open the scoring in the first half, then played a key role in creating the captain’s goal that sealed the game in the second half.
The 21-year-old also scored a goal and was named man of the match in Germany’s 5-1 win over Scotland in the tournament opener on Friday.
“He’s incredible for me. It’s a real pleasure to play with him. He’s someone who can do the unexpected in any situation and makes a difference to our team“, said the Barcelona midfielder.
“He is perhaps the most important thing for us at the moment and at such a young age, especially when it comes to creating, making the final pass and scoring goals, which he has also added to his game”, he added.
