Deschamps spoke about Mbappé and warned fans: “If you don’t like it, change the channel”

Didier Deschamps spoke at a press conference on the eve of the France-Poland match, Les Bleus’ final game in Group D at Euro-2024.

Mbappé: “He’s getting better every day, better than yesterday or the day before. The injury is healing and he’s getting used to the mask. He’s just as keen to play tomorrow (today) as he was against the Netherlands. His breathing is not affected, but his vision is. In certain situations, the mask limits the angle of vision, but there’s no greater risk playing in the middle, because there’s contact in every duel. It all depends on your position. You have to get used to it.

On the team: “Our aim is to give them as much confidence as possible. Dayot has had a long period without playing because of physical problems and needs to maintain his level of performance, which is important for us.”

Griezmann: “He was better in the second game. If he’d scored on one of his two chances, the perception of the match would have changed. He’s had a busy season, these are high-level matches, it’s not easy. Even so, he was more effective than in the first game.”

On Poland: “They played a good game against the Netherlands with a precise system. Even with no qualification at stake, I know we’ll be up against a motivated team. They have a lot of important players, which makes them dangerous from set-pieces.”

On the match against the Netherlands: “It’s a shame we didn’t score, given the chances we created. It’s been a long time since we’ve had so much control and we created five or six clear-cut chances. We have popular support in the stadium and over 10 million viewers. If you don’t like it, change the channel…”
