Former Barcelona captain Andrés Iniesta was quickly won over by Lamine Yamal.
Iniesta said the 16-year-old Barça star had impressed at Euro-2024 with Spain.
“He doesn’t fit the usual parameters. At 16, the importance he has had this year at Barça, the importance he has had in the national team? Encourage him to continue, because from the outside you can see a very united group in the national team that gives a great feeling”, Iniesta told SPORT.
“At the end of the day, it’s the talent he has, what he does. Obviously, these are situations you have to take advantage of, you have to follow his progress and make him grow over time”, he added.
