Phil Foden admitted he was still feeling “rusty” after scoring his first goal of the season in Manchester City’s 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava, marking his first Champions League victory.
“I had more chances to score, and on another night I could have done more, but we’re very happy with the 4-0 win. It’s been a slow start to the season for me, so it felt good to score again”, Foden told TNT Sports.
Ilkay Gundogan also found the net, and coach Pep Guardiola was pleased with his team’s performance: “He’s not at his best yet, but he scored a fantastic goal, he had more chances and, little by little, he’s finding his form.“
Foden added: “I’m very happy with my performance, but I know there are still things I can improve and work on. I’m still a bit rusty”, he concluded.
