Qatar and Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of splitting

The future of Qatar Sports Investments’ (QSI) involvement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is under scrutiny as their long-term vision for the club evolves. According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, PSG is currently navigating a period of turbulence marked by significant structural changes.

Key figures such as Jean-Claude Blanc, Cynthia Marcou, Marc Armstrong, and Nicolas Arndt, who contributed to the club’s growth over a decade, have stepped down. On the pitch, major stars have also exited, leaving the project under the leadership of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Portuguese sporting director Luis Campos. Together, they have placed their trust in head coach Luis Enrique, implementing a strategy focused on collective effort.

However, the ongoing legal dispute with the city of Paris over the Parc des Princes complicates PSG’s future and raises speculation that QSI might be scaling back its ambitions for the club. Economically, Ligue 1’s leaders appear to be spending less, with reports from L’Équipe indicating that the Qatari owners have reduced their involvement since the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

While a complete withdrawal seems unlikely, sources close to Doha’s power circles suggest the emir could entertain selling the club for the right price—a claim also corroborated by Flashscore in France.
