Pep Guardiola says Manchester City will be his last club job

Pep Guardiola has announced that he has no intention of taking up another position at another club after the expiry of his contract with Manchester City, which runs until 2027. The 53-year-old Spanish coach has revealed that he no longer has the energy to launch a new project at another club. In charge of City since 2016, Guardiola has compiled a successful career, winning six Premier League titles and 18 trophies in total, including the Champions League in 2023.

In a recent interview, Guardiola explained his decision: ‘I don’t want to coach another team. I’m not talking about the distant future, but I know that I don’t want to leave Manchester City to start again in another country. I don’t have the energy for that. Despite this, he expressed an interest in a possible future as national team coach, saying it would be a different and less intense challenge. ‘Resigning could be a good thing for me’, he said.

Despite their struggles this season, with just one win in their last eight matches, Guardiola reiterated his commitment to taking Manchester City back to the top. ‘It’s a difficult challenge, but I’m here. I want more than ever to lift the team and take it back to the top’, he concluded.

On Wednesday 11, Manchester City face Juventus away in the Champions League.
