Giannis Antetokounmpo, forward for the Milwaukee Bucks, and Nikola Jokic, center for the Denver Nuggets, are leading the fan voting for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. The starters are chosen through a popular vote, while the reserves are selected by the coaches.
Fan voting accounts for 50% of the selection for the starting five for the event, scheduled for February 16 in San Francisco, with the remaining 50% split equally between media votes and NBA players’ votes.
New Format for the 2025 All-Star Game
The NBA has introduced a new format for the 2025 edition, replacing the traditional two-team setup with a four-team tournament. The teams will be led by Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and the winners of the Rising Stars Challenge, with Candace Parker, WNBA legend, as the coach.
Antetokounmpo Dominates the Eastern Conference
Giannis Antetokounmpo has accumulated 1,710,630 votes in the first report, ranking first among forwards in the Eastern Conference. He is followed by Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics) with 1,385,851 votes, Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks) with 1,099,966 votes, and Paolo Banchero (Orlando Magic) with 484,096 votes.
Among the Eastern Conference guards, LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets) leads with 947,444 votes, followed by Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers) with 718,084 votes and Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks) with 704,914 votes.
Jokic Leads the Western Conference
Nikola Jokic leads the Western Conference forwards with 1,422,121 votes. Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns) is second with 1,268,799 votes, while LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers) is third with 1,167,661 votes. Anthony Davis (Lakers) follows with 999,540 votes, and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs) has 928,501 votes.
Among the Western Conference guards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) leads with 1,053,683 votes, followed by Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) with 870,071 votes. Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) is third with 810,357 votes, followed by Kyrie Irving (Dallas Mavericks) with 503,567 votes and Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves) with 411,749 votes.
