German defender Antonio Rüdiger described playing for Real Madrid as a great honor, calling it one of the most prestigious clubs in the world and the reigning champion of Spain.
“A dream that still feels surreal”
“Playing for Real Madrid is more than a dream, and sometimes it still feels surreal,” Rüdiger said in an interview with SID. The 31-year-old center-back joined Los Blancos in 2022 from Chelsea FC, bringing with him both experience and talent.
Pride in achievements
Establishing himself as a starter at Real Madrid is a source of immense pride for the player. “Being recognized with a place in the FIFA Team of the Year is an incredible honor and makes me immensely happy,” he added.
Rüdiger sees every day at Real Madrid as a unique experience and a constant source of motivation: “Real Madrid is the biggest and most famous club in the world, and the legendary white jersey is recognized everywhere. Wearing it every week is extraordinary.”
Career success and future goals
Rüdiger has won the Champions League with both Chelsea and Real Madrid but does not consider himself the best defender in the world: “I would never describe myself that way. That’s for others to judge.”
