Portuguese international Cédric Soares will leave Arsenal at the end of the season, following four and a half years with the club, the Premier League side confirmed on Monday. Mauro Bandeira has also left the club.
In a statement, the Gunners thanked the players who will depart on June 30, including the 2016 European champion with Portugal, who joined Arsenal in the second half of the 2019/20 season on loan from Southampton.
Over the next four seasons, Cédric Soares, 32, never established himself in the London side and made only five appearances this season, following a loan spell at Fulham in 2022/23.
Trained at Sporting, the right-back had a loan spell at Académica before becoming a key player for Sporting’s main squad, from which he moved to Southampton in the 2015/16 season.
Young Portuguese midfielder Mauro Bandeira, 20, will also leave Arsenal at the end of the season, having never made his debut for the first team despite being called up several times by coach Mikel Arteta.
