The London club is enamored with the Spanish winger, and the transfer could amount to 50 million euros. Nico Williams has been impressing for Spain at the Euros, where he has been closely watched by the Blues. After losing out to Bayern Munich in the race to sign Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise, Chelsea is now turning its attention to Nico Williams, reports Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia.

The Blues are not waiting around and intend to pay the 50 million euro release clause in Williams’ contract with Athletic Bilbao.

However, the young player needs to be convinced. Last week, he stated, “I am very happy at Athletic, it’s the club that has given me everything. It’s the club that has believed in me 100%. I am very happy in Bilbao, and that’s what I have to say. Yes, I’m very clear. Athletic is my home, I am very happy, and now I want to focus on the Euros. If we are not 100 percent in a competition like this, we will be surpassed. As for the rest, I don’t know what will happen.”
