Germany’s captain, Ilkay Gundogan, praised his compatriot Jamal Musiala following the victory over Hungary (2-0), calling him “incredible” and expressing “the joy of playing with him.” Musiala received an assist from Gundogan to open the scoring in the first half and then played a crucial role in creating the captain’s goal that sealed the game in the second half.
The 21-year-old also scored a goal and was named man of the match in Germany’s 5-1 victory over Scotland on Friday, in the tournament opener.
“For me, he is incredible. It is a great joy to play with him. He is someone who can do the unexpected in every situation and makes a difference in our team,” noted the Barcelona midfielder.
“He is perhaps the most important for us at the moment and at such a young age, especially when it comes to creating, providing the final pass, and scoring goals, which is something he has also added to his game,” he emphasized.
