Erling Haaland (23 years old) has urged his Manchester City teammates to “relax” after they made history in English football with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham.
Tuesday’s triumph in North London saw Manchester City, thanks to two goals from Haaland, win their rescheduled match and return to the top of the table, with a two-point lead over Arsenal.

A win away at West Ham on the final day of the season, on Sunday, will secure City’s fourth consecutive Premier League title – an unprecedented feat in English football’s top tier.

“Yeah, fantastic mentality,” Haaland told City+.

“Focus on game by game and now relax. We came here to try to win, and we won,” he added.

Haaland broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half when he finished off a pass from Kevin De Bruyne before doubling City’s lead from the penalty spot after Jeremy Doku was brought down by Pedro Porro.

However, Spurs had the chance to level, but Manchester City’s substitute goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega, who came on after Ederson was injured in a clash with Cristian Romero, saved Son Heung-min’s shot in the one-on-one with the South Korean.

“It’s a fantastic team,” Haaland said about Spurs.

“Everyone knows they always want to play, and that’s a compliment to them. It was very difficult, but yeah, we came here to try to win, and we won. That’s the only thing I care about, and I’m happy. I think we were a little bit nervous. I think it’s normal, there are a lot of emotions for everyone. Everyone knows the situation, but the important thing is not to overthink. Try to focus on what we have to do and try to win,” explained Haaland.

He added, “Ortega, the man of the match
What can I say? He’s amazing, and he’s also a nice guy, so I’m happy for him.”
