Iconic high school jersey worn by basketball star LeBron James on auction

A high school jersey worn by basketball legend LeBron James is expected to sell for over a million US dollars at an auction later this month in Hong Kong. The jersey was worn during LeBron’s time at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, and gained fame when he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, where he was dubbed “The Chosen One” as his journey to becoming one of the greatest players began.

The jersey is part of an auction on September 28th, featuring memorabilia from iconic figures such as martial arts legend Bruce Lee and pop star Taylor Swift. The auction will present 89 lots of items from international stars in music, sports, and entertainment in its first-ever sale in Hong Kong.

Ahead of the event, 53 of these items, including star-studded clothing and accessories, are being showcased in an upscale Hong Kong mall. Basketball, particularly the NBA, enjoys huge popularity in Hong Kong and mainland China, with LeBron James being a major figure among fans and collectors.

Nearly half of the auction’s lots, around 40 items, are dedicated to Bruce Lee, with some making their first public appearance in decades.

The auction company is hopeful for a successful sale at the end of September, and for those with a spare million dollars, both LeBron’s jersey and Bruce Lee memorabilia could be yours.
