The new Fenerbahçe coach, José Mourinho, admits that he almost accepted the managerial position at Borussia Dortmund. José Mourinho was appointed as Fenerbahçe’s coach last week, amid rumors that he was also in contact with Bayern Munich.
Speculation that he could succeed Thomas Tuchel at Bayern had persisted for several months but never materialized.
José Mourinho, on the other hand, was closer to committing to Borussia Dortmund in the past.
“When I was about to go to Borussia Dortmund a few years ago, I learned German. It wasn’t easy, but I tried,” he admitted.
Mourinho was referring to 2015 when he was considered to replace Jurgen Klopp before Klopp moved to Liverpool.
