Jurgen Klopp clarified on Friday that there’s no tension between him and Mohamed Salah post their touchline altercation during the West Ham match.
Despite Salah’s cryptic comment in the mixed zone, Klopp assured the matter was resolved, deeming it as a regular occurrence.
“I think we have the right to deal with these things completely independent of any expectations from the outside. It is a non-story. In general everyone is in the best possible place,” he added. “We win the games, we score loads of goals, then the situation would have probably not been exactly like that because Mo would not have been on the bench in the first place. It all depends on each other.”
“It is completely resolved. It is no problem”, Klopp affirmed, highlighting their longstanding relationship and mutual respect.
The incident raised questions about Salah’s future, especially with his contract nearing its end as he approaches 32 in June.
Speaking before the Tottenham game, Klopp acknowledged Liverpool’s probable third-place finish but emphasized the importance of Champions League qualification for the club’s future.
“Everybody knew how important it would be to qualify for the Champions League again”, Klopp emphasized. “So we did. And it’s super important for the future of the club, and I’m really happy about that.”
