ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, hasn’t responded to comments. However, it defends user privacy globally.
TikTok faces scrutiny worldwide. Italy fined three TikTok units for inadequate content checks, especially for minors. In the US, the Senate passed a bill targeting TikTok if ByteDance doesn’t divest within nine to twelve months.
