The legendary NBA player played an amusing role during a special show in Paris at ‘The Shop’.
Ever since the NBA draft in June, we knew that LeBron James would be playing for the Los Angeles Lakers alongside his son Bronny. The dream is about to come true, and number 23 is very excited. However, in a half-serious, half-joking tone, LeBron admitted that he had set limits to his working environment.
In the latest episode of the upcoming episode of ‘The Shop’, which was recorded live in Paris and will be released on YouTube this Thursday, the veteran winger revealed: ‘He can’t call me “dad” in the workplace.’ The statement was made when asked about his working relationship with Bronny next season.
‘When we’re in private, with the doors closed, I can be ‘dad’ again. In the car, if we’re together, or at home, I can be dad,’ added Akron-born LeBron.
LeBron also drew laughs from the audience when he suggested other ways of addressing Bronny: ‘He should call me “23”, or “Bron”… Or even “GOAT” (best of all time), if he wants… It’s his choice,’ he joked.
Finally, LeBron explained that it won’t be difficult for him to adapt: ‘It’s easy for me because I’ve been calling him “Bronny” for a long time. It’s not like I’m saying ‘Hey, son; hey, son! So it’s easy for me. He’s the one who’s going to have to adapt,’ he explains. We can’t just run onto the pitch and shout at him: ‘Dad, pass me the ball! Daddy, I’m free! No, we can’t do that,’ concluded the new Olympic champion.
