From beer to Hungary’s jersey. “Bodyshaming? I laugh at that,” said Martin Adam.
Defeated 3-1 by Switzerland in their debut match at the European Championship, Hungary made headlines due to their 29-year-old forward Martin Adam, who plays for Ulsan Hyundai in South Korea.
Substituted in the second half for former AC Milan player Kerkez, Adam was immediately noticed by TV viewers and especially by internet users for his physical build.
Images of his actions went viral, and comments about his physical appearance multiplied, many of them sarcastic.
But Adam took it all in good humor.
“Yes, I read some of the comments and some of them surprised me. But I usually laugh easily and joke about it. I was born this way, it’s my body shape. I can’t change it, I can’t change genetics. And that’s all I can say,” he said.
On the other hand, during Euro 2020, Adam gained attention for his reaction to not being called up by coach Marco Rossi, saying he would stay home and drink beer. And now, according to socialites, the effects are being felt.
