Kylian Mbappé trained with Real Madrid on Monday ahead of his first UEFA Champions League match with the club, following his summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 25-year-old French striker has netted four goals in six appearances since joining Real Madrid and will look to add to that tally in their match against Stuttgart in the Spanish capital on Tuesday.
Mbappé was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player in July, fulfilling what he called a childhood “dream.” This transfer followed his decision two years ago to stay with Paris Saint-Germain, turning down a move to Madrid at the last moment to renew his contract with the French club.
Real Madrid, who defeated Borussia Dortmund in last season’s final at Wembley Stadium, are aiming for their 16th European title. The two clubs will meet again for a rematch on October 22nd in Madrid.
During the Champions League group stage, Real Madrid will also host home games against FC Salzburg and AC Milan under the tournament’s new format. On their travels to the UK, they’ll face six-time champions Liverpool, as well as Atalanta, Brest, and Lille.
