Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has hinted that he will stay with the Premier League club following the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp, the Egyptian international said on Monday evening.
With Klopp’s exit after nearly nine years at the helm and the official confirmation of his successor, former Feyenoord coach Arne Slot, uncertainty about Salah’s future at Liverpool, whose contract expires in June 2025, has increased.
The 31-year-old player was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last season. Liverpool’s top scorer this season, Salah experienced a dip in form, particularly towards the end of the season when the title race was over.
However, on Monday, after Slot’s announcement as Liverpool’s new manager, Salah outlined his team’s ambitions for the next season and sent a farewell message to Klopp.
“We know that trophies are what matter, and we will do everything we can to make that happen next season,” he wrote on social media.
