More than 27,500 people attended Athletic Bilbao’s training session in San Mamés

The passion for the biancorosso club invaded San Mamés. During the school holidays and on New Year’s Eve, the open-door training session exceeded all expectations.

Although admission was free, prior booking was required via the club’s official website. As is traditional in Bizkaia, the audience responded enthusiastically.

The highlight for Athletic Club, currently fourth in La Liga, second in the Europa League, close to the Spanish Supercup and committed to defending their Copa del Rey title in Logroño, attracted a turnout that many teams would love to see at official matches. No fewer than 27,522 spectators attended the event, an impressive figure.

With a strong presence of children, the most applauded were the Williams brothers, the stars of a festive day in San Mamés. The atmosphere was made even more special by a magnificent sunny day, despite the typically cold weather.

To round things off, the players handed out gifts at the end of the session, leaving an unforgettable memory for all present.
