The NBA and WNBA announced a 12-year contract renewal with Nike Inc. through 2037. The agreement includes the supply of uniforms, apparel, merchandise, marketing and content for the leagues, and also covers the G-League.
The extension was announced on the eve of the NBA’s 79th season and a day after the New York Liberty won the WNBA title. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver highlighted Nike’s critical role in growing the game of basketball, particularly in youth development.
The partnership also reinforces the company’s investment in the WNBA and creating exclusive fan experiences. Nike President Elliott Hill said the company remains committed to growing the game globally. The renewal is a continuation of the eight-year contract signed in 2015 that began in 2017-18. Nike has been a partner of the NBA since 1992 and the WNBA since its inception in 1997.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert highlighted Nike’s commitment to the growth of women’s basketball. Additionally, Nike renewed its agreement with the NBA players’ union, highlighting the global impact of the league’s athletes.
