Manuel Neuer predicts a “difficult task” for the German defence in the quarter-final against Spain. In an interview with MagentaTV, the goalkeeper praised the “positioning” of the Spaniards, who are unbeaten with four wins.
“They know how to behave in the final third”, said Neuer: “All the Spaniards around the area are very strong finishers. We have to make sure they don’t have too much space and stop their shots.”
Despite Spain’s quality, Neuer sees opportunities: “Our stability is crucial. We’ve shown in the past that we can score goals. Germany have some top-class strikers. If we get them on the right track, we’re capable of scoring goals.”
