Mats Hummels is apparently on Roma’s wish list for next season. According to Corriere della Sera, the club from the Italian capital has been in contact with the 35-year-old player, whose contract with Borussia Dortmund is expiring.
The Italian newspaper states that the central defender would like to continue his career in Italy. Also according to the aforementioned source, Roma are offering Mats Hummels a two-year contract with an option to buy for another year.
It is not yet known whether Hummels will remain at Borussia Dortmund, go to another club or even retire from the sport. Recently, Hummels stated that his retirement was the least likely option.
A move to a distant country, such as the United States, would not be an option, due to family reasons.
“If I leave Borussia, I will go to a nearby European country,” the player recently told Sport Bild.
