Statements and Ambitions
Sam Porter, one of the project leaders, stated:
“We believe the future of La Equidad is bright. Bogotá is an incredible city, full of opportunities to grow and achieve great success. We are excited to be part of this project and its fanbase.”
Ryan Reynolds and Success with Wrexham
Reynolds is no stranger to the world of football. He is already the owner of Wrexham, a Welsh team that, under his leadership and that of Rob McElhenney, rose from the fifth to the third tier of English football. The club gained widespread fame through the television series Welcome to Wrexham, which documents the team’s journey.
The History of La Equidad
Founded as an offshoot of an insurance company, La Equidad is the third-largest club in Colombia’s capital city. Competing in the top tier of Colombian football since 2007, the team has reached three finals but has yet to secure a title. It has also participated in multiple editions of the Copa Sudamericana.
With new investors and renewed enthusiasm, the club aims to write a new chapter of success in its history.
