Senegal held a training session on Friday ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi. This match will be Senegal’s first under interim coach Pape Thiaw, following the dismissal of Aliou Cissé, who led them to an AFCON title and managed them in the last two World Cups.
Thiaw emphasized the importance of home support, stating, “Our supporters have confidence in us, as they did in the past. Playing against Senegal is tough, and it’s up to us to make the match easier for ourselves.”
Malawi also prepared rigorously for this crucial encounter, as they are in a difficult position after two consecutive losses. Senegal currently sits with one win and one draw in Group L, while Malawi remains at the bottom without any points.
