Tadej Pogacar was crowned the overall winner of the 2024 Giro d’Italia in Rome on Sunday. The 25-year-old Slovenian secured his third Grand Tour victory, equaling the number of wins achieved by cycling legends such as Greg LeMond and Laurent Fignon, among others.

Three Wins in Six Grand Tours
So far, Pogacar has completed six Grand Tours in his career, winning three of them. The UAE Team Emirates rider won his first Tour de France in 2020. A year later, he claimed another Tour victory, and this past Sunday, he added a third Grand Tour title to his resume with his win at the Giro d’Italia.

This achievement places Pogacar in an illustrious list, alongside cyclists like Laurent Fignon, Pedro Delgado, and Greg LeMond. These champions of the past also won three Grand Tours in their careers.

Pogacar is also focused on winning the upcoming Tour de France. If the Slovenian achieves this goal and manages to win both the Giro and the Tour in the same season, he will join a smaller group of cyclists who have won four Grand Tours. This list includes Primoz Roglic, Tony Rominger, Roberto Heras, and Vincenzo Nibali.
