Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said he is open to returning to play for the Belgian national team. Courtois’ last game with Belgium was in June 2023, after a conflict with coach Domenico Tedesco. However, the goalkeeper has expressed his desire to receive a call-up again.
Courtois’ statements:
“I have always been proud to play for my country. Obviously, the team went on its way and I don’t know what will happen next month or next year”, he told ESPN.
“I obviously hope to come back and play so I can take a proper leave of absence or continue to represent the national team. I would love to participate in the World Cup … but we’ll see what happens. It’s not that simple”, he added.
