Vincent Kompany is on the verge of being confirmed as Bayern Munich’s new coach.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a member of the Bavarian club’s board of directors, has announced that the Belgian will succeed Thomas Tuchel, with the support of Pep Guardiola.
“Our board has chosen Vincent Kompany as our new coach. We are finalising the last details and then it will be official”, Rummenigge told Sky Italia.
Rummenigge stressed that former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola had played an important role in the recruitment of 38-year-old Kompany. “Pep praised Vincent as a talented coach. He knows Vincent well and his opinion was very much appreciated”, said Rummenigge. Kompany was a player and captain at Manchester City under Guardiola.
